DIFFERENT TYPES OF CEMENT AND ITS PROPERTIES

1. ordinary portland cement :-this is the cement used for normal concrete construction .it has adhesive and cohesive properties so as to render it to form a good bond with other material             Cement is obtain by burning amixture of the follwing materials in define properties   

• slicious materials (containing silica ) 
• argillaceus materials (containig alumina )
• caleareous materials (containing)

      the  temperature which the mixture must be is about 1400 degre celcius .the clinker so obtained is cooled and poweder to the required finness .the product so obtained is called cement .

# portland cement consist of the followingcomponent

• lime    60% to 67%
• silica   17% to 25%
• alumina 3% to 8%
• iron oxide  0.5% to 6%
