Bolted connection Types of bolted connection nepalcei

Bolt may be defined as the metal pin with a head at one end and a shank thread at other end to recive a nut .They are used to joining together of metals .

#Bolted types :-

  1. Unfinished bolt
  2. Finished bolt
  3. High strength friction grip bolt
  1. Unfinished bolts:- These are made from mild steel roads with square or hexagonal head .Which is known as ordinary ,common ,rough and black bolt . Which are used for light structure under state load such as truss and purlin etc. bolt hole is 1.6 mm more then bolt diameter .Bolt of nomial dia. 12,16,20,22,24,278,30,and 36mm are available and design as M16,M20, M22 etc.yield stress of bolt =240 n/mm^2 and ultimate stress =400 n/mm^2.
  2. Finished bolts:- These are similar to unfinished bolts with diff shank of these bolts is framed from hexagonal rod Bolt hole is 1.5 mm more larger then nomial dia. connection
  3. High strength friction grip bolts:-Which are made from high strength steel road .The surface of shank is kept unfinished as in case of black bolts  .Load transfer from one component to another through friction .There is no  slip and not shear is include .Such are used for high rise building ,bridge, machine , etc.Which is made of alloy ie. have high strength
